Our school website design process delivers a unique website every time.

Queensland’s Loreto College at Coorparoo and Mount Alvernia College at Kedron launched new websites recently. Both Colleges are all girls’ secondary Catholic schools in the Greater Brisbane area yet have different identities, missions and target catchments.

Of course, there are similarities and elements that are consistent for both schools – any school in fact – but the capacity to ensure individuality is always available for any website design.

It is our job to ensure a school is unique in its presentation, messages and personality. So how do we do it?

We apply a straightforward process to the design and development of your website. This ensures you achieve a unique outcome befitting of your school brand.

Our School Website Design Process

Each website has six key steps.

1. Brief

We develop a brief that encapsulates your website goals and objectives, target audiences, what websites you like, user experience and more. This may involve a workshop to distil this further with key members of your executive team.

2. Site Map

We gain clarity on your site navigation, pages and flow of user experience from the home page. We also factor in Google Analytics of page visits to your current website.

3. Home Page Wireframe

Together we decide what content you want on the home page and how this will reflect your unique attributes, values, philosophy and what is unique for your school. We particularly address the key things you want your target audience/s to know and do (calls to action).

4. Brand Essence & Positioning

We convey your brand essence and position through copy tone of voice, key messaging, and more (particularly considering the elements of point 3 above). This requires us — and you — knowing what your brand essence is. This is important strategy work. For many schools this may require an additional brand workshop with key staff to determine your brand pyramid and position.

5. Design

Using your brand style guide (or update/creation of one to reflect your unique colours, typography, other brand assets and photography) to create a unique design for your website including home page, footer and individual navigation landing pages that work for both mobile and desktop. We can also take into account heatmapping results to understand how people have traversed your site in the past and what captures their attention. Our designers have extensive design experience and gain ideas and insights internationally and from multiple sectors and inputs, all while working to the design brief. Their designs are outstanding.

6. Content

Bringing a final site to life involves not just the copy but also curated photography and video content that is on-brand (creative direction, personality, tone of voice and messaging).

The end result of our school website design process is a website that is distinctive in its own look, feel and story.

An additional service is SEO analysis of relevant opportunities and writing Foundational SEO copy and other onsite techniques to take advantage of these opportunities.
